ABOUT PRODUCTID 2767
This set of six Culbutto whisky glasses, designed by R. Eschler for Moser in Karlovy Vary, exemplifies the artistry of Central European glassmaking from the 1940s and 50s. Crafted from neodymium (alexandrite) crystal, the glasses display a remarkable shift in hue—from celadon through violet to lilac—depending on the light source. Each glass features a rounded, bulbous shape with a wide base that gently tapers towards the rim, while precisely cut and polished rims and bases reveal the meticulous handcrafting for which Moser is renowned. The absence of visible mold lines indicates mouth-blown production, and this set, being the largest model from the Culbutto series, has survived in excellent condition—each glass is free from damage, maintaining the crystal’s full clarity and lustre. These glasses capture the spirit of an era where scientific curiosity met artisanal skill, and experiments with neodymium allowed glass to embody its own inner glow. Turning each piece in hand reveals a subtle play of colors—almost as if the vessel narrates the shifting moods
