ABOUT PRODUCTID 8433
The set consists of six dessert plates from the 'Krople rosy' (Dew Drops) series, designed by Jan Sylwester Drost for the Ząbkowice Glassworks in the 1980s, exemplifying late Polish utilitarian modernism. Each plate is made of pressed, soda-lime glass, colored in the mass, with a cool, translucent, and subtly frosted finish. The main decorative feature is a pattern of raised glass droplets—some colored in amber, blue, and brown, while others remain clear—arranged in a regular, harmonious rhythm. The plates are perfectly round with gently thickened, smooth rims, and their distinctly textured surface plays with light and touch. The glass is uniform, with no visible seams or imperfections, highlighting the high standard of craftsmanship. The set is preserved in excellent condition, showing no signs of wear or damage. These plates evoke the poetic spirit of everyday life in 1980s Poland, when glass design sought a balance between utility and gentle ornamentation. The motif of dew-like droplets recalls early mornings when condensation traces delicate points of light and color on windows. The matte, icy surface diffuses light softly, while the colored accents create a sense of lightness and fleeting beauty, inviting moments of simple pleasure. The 'Krople rosy' set may be used for serving desserts in the living room or dining area, especially in interiors inspired by Polish modernism or curated vintage glass collections. Pairing them with plain white porcelain, clear glass serving pieces, or ceramics from the 1970s and 1980s will emphasize the rhythm of the raised droplets. They work well on a wooden table with a pronounced grain or a minimalist, neutral tablecloth. The plates fit both modern, airy interiors and more colorful, eclectic settings.
