A set of six dessert plates from the 'Dew Drops' series, designed by Jan Sylwester Drost for Huta Szkła Gospodarczego 'Ząbkowice' in Dąbrowa Górnicza, exemplifies late modernist Polish design from the 1980s. Each plate, measuring 21 cm in diameter, is made of pressed, colored-in-mass soda glass. The base is clear, cool-toned glass with a matte finish, accentuated by raised, organically arranged droplets in shades of amber yellow, cobalt blue, ruby red, and smoky brown. The dense, tactile texture of the droplets gives the plates a playful, distinctive character, while the flat profile and gently upturned edges reflect the functionality and discipline of the era. The set is preserved in very good, original condition, with no visible signs of wear, damage, or restoration.These plates evoke the voice of Polish modernist design from the 1980s—a period when glass became a canvas for experimentation, and everyday objects offered a field for artistic play with light and color.
