The set of eight Comet conference chairs, designed by Gunilla Allard for the Swedish manufacturer Lammhults in the 1990s, represents a harmonious blend of Scandinavian restraint, contemporary functionality, and refined modernist craftsmanship. Each chair stands on a five-star polished aluminum base with castors, lending mobility and a sense of lightness to the whole composition. The deep matte black upholstery, covering both the seats and ergonomic backrests, complements the architectural armrests made of polished aluminum with black matte inserts. The proportions are balanced, with gently rounded lines and clear construction details such as visible screw joints at the base and seamless transitions between elements, all reinforcing the modern character of the design. Each chair maintains a cohesive, elegant silhouette, fully in line with the Scandinavian minimalist canon. The set has undergone a comprehensive upholstery restoration—seats and backrests have been newly padded and covered with high-quality fabric, while the metal components have been cleaned and polished to restore their original sheen.
