ABOUT PRODUCTID 1739
This set of five Art Nouveau wine goblets, produced by the Józefina Glassworks around 1900, reflects the high artistry of early 20th-century Central European glassmaking. Each goblet features a fusion of colorless, crystal-clear glass—shaping the slender, gently tapering stem and foot—and a bowl made of uranium glass in a cool, light yellow-green tone. Decoration is limited to a frieze motif of leaves, rendered in the Art Nouveau manner, with no additional ornamentation beyond the subtle color effect. The form of these goblets echoes an era that valued both functionality and organic elegance. Art Nouveau, as interpreted by the Józefina Glassworks, speaks in the language of fluid lines and gentle color gradients—glass that seems to narrate a story of light filtering through leaves. The uranium glass bowls, glowing under UV light, recall a time when innovation in glass coloring symbolized modernity and each goblet became not just a vessel but a small work of table art.
