This set of five vintage bar stools, handmade in Belgium in the 1970s, exemplifies the organic mid-century approach to design. Each stool features a robust, round seat cut from solid tree trunk, retaining natural bark and an irregular edge that highlights the authenticity of the material. The seats display a spectrum of warm brown tones—from medium to deep—with lighter accents and pronounced wood grain patterns throughout. A matte finish emphasizes the raw, unrefined texture, while natural splits, knots, and irregularities lend each seat a unique identity. The stools stand on three sturdy, splayed cylindrical legs joined by a circular wooden footrest; both legs and footrests are stained dark brown, showing areas of wear, scratches, and patina consistent with age. The construction is solid, with visible dowel joints and no metal fasteners.
