This set of five Arpege dining chairs, designed by Étienne Fermigier for Baumann in 1970s France, exemplifies the refined modernism and functionality of the era. The construction features cantilevered tubular chrome frames that lend the chairs both visual lightness and a subtle sense of movement, characteristic of European design from that decade. The seats and backrests, made from molded plywood, are upholstered in a light beige genuine leather that has acquired authentic patina over time—visible through natural creases and some discoloration. A black trim accentuates the edges, highlighting the geometric contours of each chair. The palette remains understated: creamy leather, shiny chrome, and black details. Sold as a set of five, the chairs are in good vintage condition, exhibiting typical signs of use, patina, light scuffs, and surface marks, with no major repairs or damage.
