This set of four bar stools in the Cesca style, inspired by Marcel Breuer’s iconic 1928 design, was manufactured in Italy in the 1970s. The construction features a main frame of polished, chromed steel, producing a cool, reflective finish, contrasted with seat and backrests crafted from light honey-brown beech wood. Beech elements show softened, rectangular edges, and the newly woven natural rattan creates a precise geometric texture, adding organic depth. The wood is protected with a semi-matte lacquer, allowing subtle grain to show through, complemented by the satin gloss of the chromed steel. The overall silhouette channels Bauhaus principles: visual lightness thanks to the cantilevered structure, minimalist proportions, and continuous lines. Joints and transitions between metal and wood are carefully executed, while rattan is neatly inset without any trace of wear.
