ABOUT PRODUCTID 15090
This set of four chairs by Oswald Haerdtl was created in the 1960s by Tatra Nabytok in former Czechoslovakia. The construction features solid wooden legs finished in a deep charcoal, almost black tone, accentuating the chair’s restrained yet distinctive silhouette. The upholstery is crafted from high-quality, textured fabric with a boucle-like surface, lending a soft, subtly nubby feel to the seat. Gently rounded backs with the signature lower cut-out and slightly splayed, tapered legs place these chairs firmly within the mid-century modern idiom, offering ergonomic comfort. The proportions are balanced: generous seats and precisely profiled details provide comfort both for everyday use and social gatherings. All chairs have undergone a professional restoration—new upholstery interiors and fabrics, wood free from visible wear or damage. The set is preserved in excellent condition after comprehensive restoration. The forms of these chairs evoke the spirit of Czechoslovak modernism: a balance between function and aesthetics, attention to detail without superfluous ornamentation.
