ABOUT PRODUCTID 9492
A set of four dining chairs designed by Helge Sibast and Børge Rammerskov for the Danish Sibast manufactory in the 1960s exemplifies mature Scandinavian design in the spirit of mid-century modern. The chairs are crafted from rosewood in a deep, warm brown with pronounced, multi-tonal grain and a subtle semi-gloss finish that accentuates the wood’s natural structure. The backrests are sculpted and ergonomically contoured, gently curved and tapered at the ends, lending fluidity and subtlety to the form. The seats are upholstered in new, matte black natural leather, creating a measured contrast with the frame and ensuring comfort. The slender, straight legs taper delicately toward the floor, reinforcing the light visual impression. Joinery is invisible, and the metal details have been cleaned and polished. The set is in restored condition—following comprehensive woodworking and upholstery restoration, with no signs of use or surface damage. These chairs carry the clear voice of Danish 1960s modernism: a form devoted to comfort, yet uncompromising in material refinement. The rosewood, with its delicate reddish undertones, evokes interiors where light plays across the wood’s texture, and the sculpted backrests quietly guide the gaze. The softness of leather and the nobility of wood resonate with the era’s pursuit of harmony—an approach where every detail was considered to serve both the body and the eye. The set can be paired with a simple solid wood table or a minimalist, thin-profile top, creating a cohesive
