A set of four Bumerang type 229XB chairs, produced by Gościcińska Furniture Factory in Poland between the late 1950s and early 1960s, embodies a quintessential example of Polish mid-century modern design. The construction relies on carefully selected beech wood with pronounced, natural grain, finished with medium oak stain and a semi-matte lacquer. The distinctive boomerang-shaped side profiles are paired with slender, tapered, and subtly splayed legs, while broad, ergonomically curved backs ensure comfort. Robust crossbars beneath the seat reinforce the frame’s stability. The seats are upholstered in smooth, olive and chartreuse green textile, providing an energetic color accent true to the era. Details such as exposed junction bolts and softly rounded edges highlight the craftsmanship.
