This set of four Model 3103 Hammer Chairs, designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in the 1960s, is a quintessential example of Danish modernism. Each chair features a black powder-coated steel frame that contrasts with the molded teak plywood seat and backrest. The design is defined by its ergonomic shaping, cut-out backrest, and gently rounded edges, combining comfort with visual lightness. The teak veneer has a subtle satin sheen, highlighting the natural wood grain, while the proportions – 41 × 41 × 78 cm – are well-suited to both compact and open-plan spaces. The chairs are stackable, making them a practical solution for both residential and public interiors. Minor signs of age are visible, such as small scratches and patina on the wood and metal, consistent with the 1960s origin. The set remains in good vintage condition.
