ABOUT PRODUCTID 41989
The set of four Model 9513 chairs, designed in 1972 by Tom Robertson for the British manufacturer A.H. McIntosh & Co., exemplifies the harmonious blend of modernism and Japanese-inspired design from the 1970s. The construction features a light, minimalist silhouette with slender frames made from warm, honey-brown teak wood finished in a soft satin that accentuates the natural wood grain. The wide, gently curved backrests with rounded edges and subtly shaped top rails give the chairs an organic quality. Their simple structure is enhanced by smooth seats upholstered in high-quality, matte black fabric, providing a striking contrast with the wood. The upholstery is precisely fitted, and the overall proportions are balanced and refined. The legs are straight and slender, reinforced with horizontal stretchers for added stability. The set has undergone comprehensive restoration, both carpentry and upholstery, and is in excellent condition with no visible signs of wear. The listed price is for the set of four chairs. These chairs carry the spirit of the 1970s, a period when simplicity of form and the authenticity of materials were intertwined with understated elegance. The black upholstery stands in contrast to the warmth of the wood, much like shadow and light, creating a composition that does not overpower the space but introduces a sense of balanced restraint. The Model 9513 chairs may be paired with a
