ABOUT PRODUCTID 28449
This set of four modular Flötotto chests of drawers from the 1970s is crafted from solid beech wood, featuring original HPL coating in a deep, matte navy blue on the drawer and door fronts. The warm, honey-toned beech frame with a satin, subtly glossy finish contrasts with the smooth, uniform blue laminate surfaces. The construction is based on box-shaped forms with visible beech dowel joints at the corners, while the handles are black circular cut-outs set into the blue fronts. The set comprises two cabinets with doors, one open shelving unit, and one chest with four drawers. All modules share the same height (74 cm) and depth (60 cm), with a total width of 240 cm. The detailing, proportions, and color juxtaposition are characteristic of German mid-century modern design. Condition: restored and in very good state—wood and laminate surfaces have been refreshed, showing no visible damage or heavy wear; fittings and finishes remain original and period-appropriate. This ensemble tells the story of German 1970s design, where functionality is paired with precise craftsmanship. The modular composition, cool navy blue, and warm beech tones create a visual dialogue in which each module serves a specific purpose. The clean lines and restrained color palette evoke an era when design aimed to organize space without dominating it. Circular handles, geometric discipline, and harmonious proportions recall the atmosphere of a design studio prioritizing clarity and economy of means. The set can be placed in the living room as a low built-in under a wall,
