This set of four Model GA dining chairs, designed by Hans Bellmann for Swiss manufacturer Horgen Glarus in the 1950s, encapsulates the essence of functional mid-century modernism. Each chair is crafted from a single piece of molded plywood, with the seat and backrest divided by a vertical split—an element that accentuates the lightness of the form and provides ergonomic support. The warm, medium honey-brown wood tone, marked by pronounced grain patterns, is finished in a semi-matte lacquer that both smooths the surface and preserves the organic character of the material. Slim, round-section metal legs in matte black are slightly splayed for stability and joined to the seat by visible brackets, a nod to the industrial influences of the era. The overall composition is geometric and angular, with every detail serving a clear functional principle. The set remains in very good vintage condition, displaying minor traces of use such as light scuffs on legs and edges, but free from major damage or interventions to the original structure. These chairs echo the voice of postwar Europe, where the search for modernity meant embracing simplicity and the honest expression of materials. The molded plywood, split like an open book, recalls a drive for innovation—both in aesthetics and technology. The slender black legs evoke the architectural discipline of the time, when every joint was meant to be seen and construction was never concealed behind ornament. It is as if the chairs themselves say, "Trust in simplicity; it will stand the test of time." The Model GA set can be paired with a simple light-wood
