This set of four postmodern Italian dining chairs, made in the 1990s, exemplifies the era’s distinctive interplay of materials and form. Honey-brown plywood backrests and square seats, finished to a smooth satin sheen, highlight the natural wood grain and stand in bold contrast to the tubular metal frame in a matte cool grey. The legs are arched and splayed, lending the chairs a dynamic, geometric silhouette, while slender vertical metal rods connect the backrests to the seats, imparting a sense of lightness and visual transparency. The minimalist design does not compromise on comfort—broad, square seats offer stability, and the gently curved backrests provide reliable support during extended use.
