ABOUT PRODUCTID 8473
This set of five crystal goblets, designed by Josef Hoffmann in Vienna during the 1920s, embodies the essence of Viennese Secession craftsmanship. Each goblet is made from clear, colorless crystal with a cool, slightly bluish undertone, highlighting purity and clarity of material. The geometric, well-proportioned form features vertical faceted fluting on the bowl that transitions smoothly into a gently flared rim. The short, sturdy stem, adorned with a rounded knop, rests on a wide and stable foot, all cut from the same luminous crystal. Surfaces alternate between smooth planes and sharply cut facets, intensifying the play of light and reflections. The design reflects Hoffmann's discipline and attention to detail, with an architectural simplicity typical of early 20th-century Viennese modernism. The set is preserved in very good condition, showing no chips, cracks, or signs of extensive use, and no evidence of restoration. These goblets seem to tell the story of interwar Vienna—a period where geometric rigor met artistic restraint. The crystal, cool and clear as a morning sky, captures and scatters light in subtle, controlled reflections, pausing to hold a moment of stillness during an elegant gathering. Their refined, understated silhouette echoes an era when the Wiener Werkstätte redefined the beauty of everyday objects, with elegance found in proportion and material rather than elaborate ornament. This set can be used for intimate gatherings or displayed as a collector's accent in a vitrine or on a console table. They are well suited to interiors inspired by Art Nouveau, Viennese
