ABOUT PRODUCTID 16973
This set of six cups, designed by Adam Sadulski in the 1970s for the Mirostowice manufactory, embodies the essence of Polish mid-century applied arts. Each cup is crafted from porcelain stoneware, with a gently tapering form, medium-thick walls, and softly rounded rims. The exterior features a semi-matte, subtly speckled glaze in a warm brown gradient that lightens toward the lip, while the interior is finished in a glossy, honey-toned glaze. The bodies are richly decorated by hand with expressive floral motifs: vivid red blossoms with yellow centers, bold green leaves with yellow highlights, and stylized turquoise geometric foliage—each painting executed by folk artists from Zalipie, a village renowned for its vibrant decorative tradition. The construction is robust, with a low, integrated foot for excellent stability. Original signatures may be found on the base. The set is preserved in excellent condition, free from chips, cracks, or wear; the hand-painted ornamentation remains vivid and intact. Within these cups, one senses both the quiet rhythm of 1970s daily life and the exuberant folklore of the Polish countryside, where hand-painted motifs adorned walls and tableware alike. Each brushstroke speaks of the Zalipie artists, seamlessly weaving rural tradition into the practical aesthetics
