ABOUT PRODUCTID 42666
This set of three meat skewers, produced around 1910 by the distinguished Sandrik manufactory in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, exemplifies the refined metal craftsmanship of the early 20th century. Each skewer is made from white metal with a silver-plated finish, lending a cool, matte silvery-grey appearance. The decorative handles stand out with their distinctly Art Nouveau (Secessionist) design: geometric and stylized organic motifs, symmetrical cut-outs, and a circular medallion. The handles combine straight lines with gentle curves, while the smooth, subtly patinated surfaces show delicate darkening in recessed areas, attesting to their age. The sharply pointed shafts transition seamlessly into the ornate handles, and the set remains in very good condition, with no visible repairs or damage and original maker’s marks preserved on the reverse. These skewers echo the spirit of an era when craftsmanship and the aesthetics of everyday objects converged in a single gesture. The Secessionist lines, tangible beneath the fingers, evoke the world of elegant Central European homes, where even kitchen tools bore the mark of artistic ambition. The metal—gaining noble patina over decades—seems to narrate a story of old-world hospitality, festive meals, and an appreciation for detail. The subtle sheen and decorative cut-outs play with light like a turn-of-the-century ornament, and each piece maintains its individuality within the cohesive set. This set can be
