This set of miniature artistic ceramics from 1950s Italy comprises four hand-crafted and glazed pieces: one rectangular dish and three smaller, irregularly shaped bowls. Each is decorated using the sgraffito technique, highlighting the graphic and decorative qualities of the composition. The primary palette features off-white and light beige, accentuated by vivid colors—red, yellow, orange, green, blue, and black—creating a striking multicolored effect. The largest dish displays a stylized portrait of a woman with geometric, modernist lines, while the smaller bowls are adorned with playful, illustrative motifs of a fish, cherries, and a butterfly. The surfaces are smooth and glossy, and the slightly irregular edges emphasize their artisanal origin. The undersides are hand-painted and signed, attesting to their authenticity and Italian provenance. The set is preserved in very good condition, with minimal signs of use and no visible damage. These ceramics echo the optimistic spirit of postwar Italy, where artisanal freedom met bold colors and graphic expression characteristic of the 1950s. Each bowl tells its own story: the stylized woman gazes from the dish like a mid-century icon, while the fish, fruit, and butterfly motifs evoke the lightness and imagination typical of Italian design from that era. The glossy glaze and hand-drawn lines invite interplay of light and shadow, recalling the atmosphere of sunlit southern interiors; these are objects that confidently balance utility with decorative flair.
