This set of six gilded silver mocha spoons from 1950s Moscow comes in its original hard-sided case, lined with plush velvet in a salmon-pink shade. Each spoon measures 12 cm in length and 2.4 cm across, with a total weight of 90 grams. The mirrored, warm-toned gilded bowls transition to handles of soft silver, which are further embellished with a vibrant enamel in cobalt blue and white, arranged in symmetrical, stylized floral and starburst motifs typical of mid-century Soviet decorative art. Beneath the enamel, fine hand engravings lend the surface a subtly textured, slightly raised finish. Each spoon is marked with a Soviet 875 silver assay and the maker’s initials. The matte gray exterior of the case retains its original patina on the corners. The set is in very good vintage condition, with no visible loss of enamel, scratches, or dents, and preserves its original markings and gilded surfaces.These spoons convey the artistry of postwar Moscow: the pairing of golden gleam and cobalt depth evokes the ritual of intimate domestic gatherings, where fine porcelain and tiny, decorated cutlery claimed their space on the table.
