ABOUT PRODUCTID 16565
A set of six faience bowls produced at the Saint Amand manufactory in France, dating back to the 1950s. Each bowl features a minimalist, refined silhouette characteristic of that era’s modernism: clean, gently rounded lines, subtly curved sides, and a uniform, pastel pink glaze with a soft semi-gloss finish both inside and out. The surfaces are entirely smooth and unembellished, creating a calm, monochromatic effect. The set includes different sizes—the largest measuring 25 cm in diameter and 10 cm in height. The construction is seamless and compact, with all pieces preserved in pristine, unused condition—free from chips, cracks, or signs of wear. This set carries the spirit of French postwar modernism, when simplicity and restraint walked hand in hand with everyday functionality. The pale pink faience evokes the understated elegance of the 1950s—a period when pared-down forms reflected democratic ideals in domestic design. These bowls, finished only with a subtle sheen of glaze, recall a letter from the past, where lightness and timeless balance take precedence—serving as objects ready to grace a table or complement a collector’s mid-century ceramics display. The set could be showcased in contemporary, Scandinavian-inspired interiors as well as in more eclectic spaces where material and detail matter. The bowls may be paired with simple glassware or natural-toned ceramics—pastel pink harmonizes well with touches of brass, teak wood, or a linen napkin. They are suited for use on a dining table, in an open-plan kitchen, on a shelf devoted to vintage ceramics, or as both functional and decorative pieces within a minimalist living space.
