This set of six German bar stools from the 1970s is a striking example of brutalist design, defined by the interplay of raw materials and bold architectural form. The seats are crafted from solid wood in a warm, medium brown tone with prominent natural grain, finished in a satin-matte sheen that highlights the wood's texture. The robust bases are hand-forged from deep black iron, featuring a subtly textured, matte surface with silvery patina and visible hammer marks on the circular footrests. Each stool stands on three widely splayed legs joined by a round iron footrest with traditional joinery. The minimalist backrest, made of bent iron plate and punctuated by two large circular cutouts, introduces a sculptural, industrial accent.
