ABOUT PRODUCTID 26661
This set of six dining chairs from 1960s Spain exemplifies rustic design based on solid oak frames in a warm honey-brown shade with a gentle semi-gloss that highlights the natural grain. The seats are handwoven from light, natural wicker, introducing a tactile beige contrast to the smooth wooden structure. The chairs feature compact, angular silhouettes with slightly splayed legs and distinctive cross-bracing at the base, reinforcing the overall stability. The backrests comprise two horizontal slats, the upper one adorned with a wavy cut-out inspired by folk craftsmanship. Traditional mortise and tenon joinery, as well as visible handwork, are present throughout the set. Dimensions are compact (height 95 cm, width 50 cm, depth 50 cm, seat height 47 cm). Condition: good vintage – wood with a gentle patina, wicker with minimal fraying, all parts original and free from major damage. These chairs echo the voice of the Spanish provinces of the 1960s: raw materials shaped by a mindful craftsman, telling a story of durability and the simplicity of daily life. Oak speaks of stability, while the handwoven seats evoke a sense of domestic authenticity and the rituals of the communal table. The cross-bracing is almost a structural signature of the era, while the subtle cut-outs in the backrest nod quietly to traditional ornament – not decorative excess but respect for detail. Patina and traces of use become part of the narrative
