This set of six dining chairs from 1960s Spain exemplifies rustic brutalism in a vintage context. Each chair features a solid oak frame in a warm, honey-brown tone with a semi-gloss finish that brings out the natural wood grain. The handwoven natural wicker seats, in a light beige hue, provide a subtle tactile contrast to the robust oak. The design is defined by compact, angular lines and distinctive interlocking cross-stretchers at the base, reinforcing both stability and visual structure. The backrests have two horizontal slats, with the upper one featuring a decorative undulating cut-out, a nod to folk craftsmanship. The legs are slightly splayed and joined with visible mortise-and-tenon joints, highlighting the artisanal construction. Proportions are sturdy and compact: 95 cm high, 50 cm wide and deep, with a seat height of 47 cm. The set is in good vintage condition, showing only minor signs of age such as gentle patina on the wood and slight fraying of the wicker, with no significant damage or repairs.
