This set of six dining chairs, designed by Rainer Daumiller for Hirtshals Savvaerk, exemplifies Scandinavian craftsmanship from the 1970s. Constructed entirely from solid pine wood with a warm, honey-brown finish, each chair showcases distinctive knots and visible grain, highlighting the organic texture of the material. The geometric, robust structure features cylindrical legs and armrests, while the gently curved backrest provides ergonomic support. The seats, also crafted from solid pine, are subtly concave for comfort and continuity with the chair’s flowing lines. Exposed dowel joints and rounded edges indicate the artisanal attention to detail and durability. The overall aesthetic draws from rustic elegance, rooted in the Scandinavian modernist tradition. The set is in very good vintage condition: only minor scratches and an authentic patina bear witness to its age, with all elements original and unaffected by repairs.
