This set of six dining chairs from the 1960s, crafted in Oirschot, the Netherlands, embodies the region’s brutalist tradition in furniture making. Each chair is made entirely of solid oak, finished in a warm medium honey-brown with a semi-gloss that highlights the pronounced and natural grain patterning of the wood. The design features high, sculpted backrests with a central cut-out, imparting a monumental, architectural character. The thick, slightly curved legs are joined by decorative, hand-carved stretchers that offer both stability and visual interest. The ergonomically contoured seats have softly rounded edges, and all connections are executed with traditional carpentry techniques, entirely free of metal elements.
