This set of six dining chairs, designed by Ross Littel for the Italian manufacturer Matteo Grassi in the 1970s, exemplifies the refined approach to form and material that defines the mid-century modern era. Each chair rests on a slender matte black steel frame, its geometric character accentuated by straight, subtly tapered legs and cross-bracing in an X-shape beneath the seat. The upholstery, crafted from genuine leather in a saturated burnt orange tone, covers both the seat and backrest, with visible, precise stitching and a gently curved seam at the lower back—an understated nod to craftsmanship. The leather’s slight sheen enhances the depth of color and adds a distinctive quality to the silhouette. The price refers to the full set of six chairs. The ensemble is preserved in very good vintage condition, showing only minor age-related signs such as faint creasing on the leather and minimal surface marks on the metal.
