This set of six 'Rennie' dining chairs, designed by Kazuhide Takahama for Studio Simon and produced in Italy during the 1970s, features robust brown lacquered wooden frames with striking, flat panel legs that extend seamlessly from the seat. Both the seats and the tall, rectangular backrests are fully upholstered in smooth, genuine leather with a semi-matte finish, creating a refined yet understated visual effect. The design is defined by minimalist, geometric lines and bold proportions—wide seats and exceptionally high backs—emphasizing both comfort and architectural presence. Visible seams and precise joinery highlight the craftsmanship, while the deep, monochromatic brown palette brings cohesion and subtle texture. The overall condition is very good, showing only minor signs of use typical for vintage originals, such as faint creasing of the leather and slight marks on the lacquer, with no major defects or damage. The commanding backrests and clean divisions of these chairs recall the spirit of 1970s Italian postmodernism, where modernity embraced a bolder, architectural language. Leather and lacquered wood form a harmonious interplay, as if narrating the story of gatherings around a long table
