This set of six gondola chairs, attributed to Pietro Costantini, was produced in Italy in the late 1970s and early 1980s, embodying the period’s refined Italian craftsmanship. The chairs are constructed from warm, medium honey-brown wood with a satin to semi-gloss finish that accentuates the natural wood grain and smoothness. Seats are upholstered in deep matte black fabric featuring a subtle geometric woven pattern, providing a striking visual and tactile contrast to the wooden frame. The design is distinguished by broad, arched, and open backrests with a wide central splat and gracefully curved supports, while the slender, splayed legs taper elegantly towards the floor, imparting a sense of lightness and movement.
