ABOUT PRODUCTID 41934
This set of three nesting coffee tables, designed by Victor Wilkins for G-Plan in the 1960s, embodies the quintessential Mid-Century Modern ethos of functional elegance. Crafted from solid teak wood in a warm, medium-brown shade with subtle reddish undertones, the tables are finished in a semi-matte lacquer that accentuates the natural grain. The largest tabletop is encircled by a broad, gently rounded border in a slightly deeper tone, framing a lighter central panel for a refined two-tone effect. The slender, tapered legs are connected by horizontal stretchers, with the side supports featuring a sculptural, arched cut-out motif—a hallmark of the era. The set is highly practical: the two smaller tables nest seamlessly beneath the largest, allowing for flexible use of living space. The original G-Plan label is preserved, attesting to the authenticity of the ensemble. The tables are in excellent condition following a comprehensive, professional wood restoration—surfaces are smooth and show no signs of wear or repair. These tables tell a story of British modernist sophistication from the 1960s: the subtle contrast in teak, the softly rounded edges, and the sculptural base details evoke a period when comfort and utility met with refined craftsmanship. The design seems to whisper: “Ready to host daily gatherings, while quietly asserting an individual presence.” Every detail reflects a harmonious, thoughtful approach—highlighting the enduring power of understated form. The set can be paired with upholstered armchairs or a neutral sofa to establish a balanced, mid-century modern living space. It works beautifully alongside accessories in natural materials—a wool rug, a thick glass vase, or a brass-accented lamp. The understated wood tones offer versatility in selecting textiles
