ABOUT PRODUCTID 32782
This set of three high colonial-style chairs from Catalonia, Spain, dates back to the 1960s and exemplifies robust craftsmanship that combines wood with ornate decorative elements. The chairs feature a striking lacquered deep red as the base, finished in a semi-gloss that serves as a backdrop for hand-carved motifs and antique gold accents. These gilded details appear on the top crest, the four horizontal back slats, and the turned finials and stretchers, highlighting the traditional Spanish aesthetic. Each seat is crafted from woven natural rush in a light beige tone, providing earthy contrast and a tactile surface. The proportions are tall and slender (111 cm high), with ladder backs and subtly splayed, rounded legs. Visible mortise and tenon joints and pegged connections attest to the authentic, sturdy construction. The set is preserved in very good vintage condition, with only minor signs of use
