This collectible ceramic set from Tułowice and Chodzież, Poland, dates from the 1960s and consists of two vases and an ashtray, each representing the influence of mid-century modern design. The vases are finished in deep black, subtly transitioning to cool grey at their bases and rims. The larger vase features a vertical, irregular band with a white, speckled pattern reminiscent of stardust, adding a dynamic accent. Both vases have organic, asymmetrical forms with softly curved, elongated silhouettes and non-uniform openings – hallmarks of avant-garde Polish ceramics of the era. The ashtray has a teardrop shape, covered in glossy black glaze with a delicate gold crackle pattern inside and a gold rim. All surfaces are smooth and reflective, and each item is signed on the underside. There are subtle traces where emblems once appeared on the vases, now gently worn but not disruptive to their appearance.
