ABOUT PRODUCTID 39528
This set of three modernist candlesticks, designed by Andrzej Szatkowski in 1979 for the Resovia workshop in Rzeszów, is crafted from silver-plated brass. Each candlestick is composed of intersecting hemispherical forms, creating a compact yet dynamic silhouette. The main surfaces are mirror-smooth and finished in a cool, silvery metallic tone, while the central, decorative studs feature a darker, textured patina, emphasizing the depth and age of the objects. The construction is precise with no visible joints or fasteners, and each piece rests securely on a rounded base. These candlesticks are intended for low, spherical candles. The set is preserved in very good vintage condition, showing only subtle signs of natural aging and patina, without damage or evidence of restoration. The forms of the candlesticks tell the story of late 1970s Polish modernism, when designers sought new means of expression—austere geometry meets sculptural play of light and texture. The smooth, silvery hemispheres reflect their surroundings like water, while the darker, textured studs capture light and accentuate the rhythm of the composition. Each piece, as if speaking with the voice of its era, recalls the avant-garde explorations of Polish design, balancing utility with decorative expression. The set
