ABOUT PRODUCTID 35337
This set of three vintage ceramic mugs, produced by Zakłady Porcelitu Stołowego 'Pruszków' in Poland during the 1960s, reflects the mid-century Central European approach to utilitarian design. Made of stoneware, the mugs present a smooth, slightly glossy surface in a warm honey-brown base color, accented by a wide, matte dark brown band encircling the lower portion of each piece. The cylindrical bodies and ergonomically curved handles follow the minimalist lines characteristic of mid-century modern aesthetics. The construction is solid and the handles are seamlessly integrated with the body, with no visible joints. Smooth color transitions and subtle tonal variations in the upper glaze lend each mug a gentle, mottled effect. The set is sold as a group of three pieces. The mugs are preserved in very good condition, with no visible signs of wear, chips, or cracks. These mugs tell a story of Polish everyday life in the 1960s, when functionality and simplicity in materials met the understated elegance of well-crafted tableware. Their form—free of unnecessary ornamentation yet finely proportioned—evokes images of family tables and daily rituals. The restrained color palette and soft gradations in the glaze conjure a sense of quiet permanence, as if the mugs have long awaited a morning coffee or tea, ready to accompany the rhythms of daily life. This set can be used in a mid-century modern kitchen or in more eclectic interiors, where their understated, retro character will be appreciated. They pair well with matte ceramics, wooden serving boards, or linen textiles. One could combine them with classic porcelain for a contrast in textures and tones, or with raw glass and metal to highlight their utilitarian roots. The mugs will serve as a subtle accent both on the everyday table and during informal gatherings.
