This set of three nesting tables, designed by Kai Kristiansen for Denmark’s Vildbjerg Møbelfabrik in the 1960s, exemplifies the essence of Scandinavian modernism. Each table is crafted from solid teak and finished with a teak veneer in a satin-matte sheen, subtly accentuating the wood grain’s natural pattern and warm brown hue with a touch of reddish undertone. The proportions are carefully balanced: the largest table measures 62 × 38 × 44 cm, with the next two at 54 × 35 × 42 cm and 46 × 31 × 40 cm, respectively. The softly beveled tabletops rest on distinctive sled-style legs that gently flare at the base, creating both stability and a sense of lightness. Precise, seamless joinery and the absence of visible hardware underscore the high craftsmanship typical of Danish furniture from this era. The tables nest perfectly under one another, forming a compact geometric unit or providing flexible surface options. The set is in very good condition, professionally refinished with all elements appearing original.
