ABOUT PRODUCTID 9665
This set of three nesting coffee tables, designed by R. Benett for the British manufacturer G-Plan in the 1960s, is crafted from teak wood in a warm brown tone with a subtle reddish hue. The rectangular tops feature gently rounded edges, while the sculptural, open-frame legs and crossbars emphasize the lightness and transparency of the construction. The harmonious proportions and refined details, such as precise joinery and smooth wood surfaces, reflect the craftsmanship characteristic of mid-century modern style. The semi-matte finish enhances the natural grain of the wood without excessive gloss. The largest table measures 53 × 43 × 49 cm, the medium: 48 × 41 × 46 cm, the smallest: 43 × 38 × 43 cm. The set’s functionality lies in the ability to nest the tables within one another, allowing for flexible use of space. The ensemble is in excellent condition after comprehensive restoration—the surfaces are smooth, with no visible signs of wear or damage. These tables evoke the spirit of British modernism from the 1960s: simplicity of form is paired with thoughtful function, while the warmth of teak conjures the inviting atmosphere of domestic interiors from that era. The rounded edges and open legs speak to a postwar fascination with organic shapes and spatial clarity—each element seems to express a sense of harmony, designed to answer the needs of modern life. The tables do not dominate the space but subtly organize the rhythm of daily gatherings, always ready to
