This set of three ceramic wall plates from the 1950s is a vivid example of Central European folk art in vintage form. Two pieces originate from the renowned pottery region of Pozdišovce, Slovakia, while the third comes from Romania. Each plate is crafted from glazed ceramic and hand-decorated with folk motifs that reflect regional traditions. The outer plates feature a deep, glossy black and brown background, highlighted by colorful ornaments—spirals, stylized leaves, and flowers in shades of cream, green, blue, orange, and brick-red. The central Romanian plate stands out with its warm, cream surface and a subtly matte finish, adorned with symmetrical red floral designs outlined in black. All plates are round, with gently raised rims; their surfaces are smooth and free of damage. Original hanging cords are preserved, and one plate bears the maker’s mark on the reverse. The set is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration marks.
