ABOUT PRODUCTID 20623
This set of two pressed glass bowls, produced by the Libochovice glassworks in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s, exemplifies the classic Art Deco style. Both bowls are crafted from clear, colorless glass with a high-gloss, almost crystalline finish, accentuating their geometric structure. The surfaces are adorned with a repeating relief of raised square motifs, each with a central depression, and the forms rest on four short, angular legs. The larger bowl measures 12.5 cm in height and 24 cm in diameter, while the smaller is 8 cm high and 11 cm in diameter. The glass features sharply defined edges and a smooth, glossy surface. The larger bowl shows no visible damage, while the smaller exhibits a minor chip on one leg. Overall, the set is in very good condition, with clear glass and no signs of significant wear or restoration. These bowls resonate with the spirit of an era that embraced the power of geometry and modern luxury. The rhythmic pattern of squares catches the light like a chessboard—alternately sharp and muted—creating a dynamic play of shadow across a table or sideboard. The transparency of the glass allows light to penetrate, while the elevated legs lend a sense of lightness and sculptural presence. These are objects that could tell stories of elegant 1930s gatherings, where form became an expression of sophistication and forward-looking style. The bowls may be paired with other Art Deco pieces, such as chrome candlesticks or geometric vases, to emphasize their historical context. They also adapt well to minimalist, contemporary interiors—placed on a dark wood console or glass table, where their transparency and interplay of light and shadow add visual depth. They can serve as decorative accents in a living room, on a sideboard, or within a collector’s display cabinet, subtly introducing
