ABOUT PRODUCTID 41616
This wall decoration from the 1960s, made in Austria, captures the essence of classic mid-century modernism through the iconic silhouettes of Donald and Daisy Duck rendered in thin, black lacquered metal wire. Comprising two separate pieces, the set allows for flexible arrangement and a dynamic graphic accent on the wall. The minimalist linear contours elegantly trace signature features—Daisy’s bow, Donald’s sailor collar—revealing a precision of execution and a cohesive, glossy black finish. The pure, uninterrupted lines and harmonious proportions reflect the graphic lightness characteristic of 1960s decorative arts. The metal surface is smooth, free of scratches or patina, attesting to careful craftsmanship and preservation. Condition: excellent, with no visible signs of use or damage. The black wire draws a spontaneous sketch across the wall, as if the 1960s spoke through an airy line and Disney’s beloved characters recounted a childhood story in a single gesture. The form radiates the optimism of the era, when joy and playfulness entered interiors in the shape of expressive, simple illustrations. Each curve seems to capture a moment in motion—a nod to animation and the graphic wit of the time. This pair can be displayed above a child’s bed, in a reading nook, or as a playful accent on a bright wall in a modern living space. They may be combined with other black wall accents, vintage posters, or minimalist shelving to create a mid-century inspired composition. Eclectic, collector’s, or 1960s modernist interiors would benefit from their graphic lightness and subtle nostalgic charm.Daisy Duck: height 43 cm, width 28 cm; Donald Duck: height 38 cm, width 20 cm. Black lacquered metal, uniform wire thickness, smooth and glossy surface. Ready to hang. The listed price refers to the set of two elements.
