ABOUT PRODUCTID 6261
This artistic ceramic set, designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, was produced in Italy during the 1960s. It consists of a vase with a cylindrical body, slightly flared neck, and flat rim (height 18 cm, diameter 10.5 cm), as well as a low, wide bowl with a thick edge (13.5 x 4 cm). Both pieces are handcrafted from ceramic with a matte, earthy brown surface and a subtly rough texture reminiscent of natural clay. Each item features a central decorative band with the iconic Rimini Blue glaze—a vibrant, glossy turquoise highlighted by geometric relief and small circular indentations, characteristic of Londi’s mid-century period. The interplay between the matte ceramic and the lustrous glaze emphasizes the modernist spirit of the set. The craftsmanship is evident in the precise relief work and harmonious proportions. Both pieces are preserved in very good condition, with no visible damage or signs of wear. The vase and bowl tell a story of 1960s Italian modernism—a time when traditional craftsmanship met bold color and clarity of form. Rimini Blue, recalling Mediterranean light reflected off clay walls, brings a note of freshness and confidence to the interior. The geometric relief patterns evoke the rhythm of ancient ornamentation, yet they remain light and playful, casting subtle shadows and highlights across the ceramic surface. This pair embodies the refined restraint of Italian aesthetics, as well as the joy of material experimentation. The Aldo Londi
