ABOUT PRODUCTID 37681
This set of teapot and creamer from the 'Płaski' line is a 1933 design by Bogdan Wendorf, produced by the Ćmielów Porcelain Factory in Poland. Both vessels are crafted from white, glazed porcelain with a smooth, lustrous finish. The geometric, angular handles and stepped bases highlight the Art Deco architecture of the form, while the carefully balanced proportions reflect the precision characteristic of the 1930s. The surfaces are adorned with subtle bouquets of yellow, blue, and violet flowers, accented with delicate green leaves and touches of orange at their centers. Fine gold lines trace the rims, handles, and spouts, enhancing the decorative effect. The bases bear the period-appropriate signature and impressed number, confirming authenticity. The set is preserved in ideal condition, with no visible signs of use, damage, or restoration. The teapot and creamer evoke the atmosphere of prewar Polish elegance, when daily rituals acquired a festive air around porcelain tableware. Their forms—geometric yet softened by floral motifs—capture the spirit of Art Deco: a belief in progress, harmony, and the beauty of function. Gold accents and white porcelain reflect light in a manner reminiscent of bright breakfast tables and morning conversation. The floral decorations offer a note of optimism, symbolizing freshness and hope, so characteristic of 1930s design. The set can be displayed on a sideboard or shelf in the living room, paired with other period porcelain or simple glassware to enhance its historical context. It would also work well against matte plaster walls or dark wood, where the porcelain's white and gold details create a gentle contrast. It is worth combining with a minimalist tray and a classic sugar bowl, forming a complete service—usable for intimate gatherings or as a decorative accent on a table or sideboard.
