ABOUT PRODUCTID 2900
This modular shelving unit, designed by John Texmon and Einar Blindheim for the Norwegian manufacturer Blindheim Mobelfabrikk, is a distinguished example of 1960s Scandinavian modernism. Crafted from teak wood in a warm, golden-brown semi-matte finish, the unit is structured around three vertical segments supported by signature A-frame angled legs. The visible, natural wood grain adds depth and texture throughout. The system comprises eight adjustable open shelves, eight spacious drawers, and cabinets with sliding doors featuring circular recessed handles. Inside the cabinets, fixed shelves provide extra storage flexibility. Its minimalist silhouette, subtly rounded edges, and precise joinery—free from visible hardware—speak to meticulous craftsmanship. The shelving unit allows for flexible display and storage of books, collectibles, or decorative objects. The overall condition is very good: the finish has been refreshed, with minor scratches and dents present and some filled veneer losses. This piece carries the spirit of an era when Norwegian design championed function and clarity without sacrificing refinement. The teak veneer evokes memories of bright Nordic interiors where every detail held meaning, and the restraint of form was synonymous
