This Boulle-style side table, crafted in France around 1860, exemplifies the height of 19th-century decorative furniture inspired by the baroque and rococo traditions. The ebonized wood construction is enriched with intricate inlays of brass, tortoiseshell (or its imitation), and gilt bronze, forming dramatic arabesque and foliate patterns in shades of red and gold set against a deep, glossy black background. The undulating, scalloped countertop with a profiled edge flows seamlessly into a richly decorated apron. Cabriole legs, gracefully curved and adorned with ornate ormolu mounts, feature classical motifs such as acanthus leaves and stylized masks, all rendered with exceptional precision and craftsmanship. The entire piece is finished with a high-gloss French polish
