This antique side table in Victorian folk art style, crafted in the United States before 1890, exemplifies 19th-century American craftsmanship. The primary material is dark-stained wood with a deep brown, subtly glossy finish that highlights the natural grain, especially on the round tabletop. The most distinctive feature lies in the vertically turned wooden spools that form both the central column and three splayed legs. Junctions between the wooden segments are finished with bright brass rings and connectors, introducing a warm golden accent and visually separating the tripod structure from the shaft. Joinery is fully visible, the composition defined by precise hand-tooling: slight surface irregularities and minimal axis misalignments among the spools speak to individual craftsmanship. The table provides a functional, compact surface measuring 37.5 cm in diameter and standing approximately 76 cm tall, making it ideally suited as a practical accent piece. It survives in very good condition for its age, showing typical finish wear and visible losses to some of the spool elements
