ABOUT PRODUCTID 42428
The Rockabilly side table from the 1970s exemplifies the era’s blend of modernism and playful, expressive rockabilly influences. Its rounded triangular tabletop, reminiscent of a guitar pick, is crafted from beige marble-effect laminate with irregular cream and light brown veining. The tabletop is bordered by a gold-toned metal band that adds a decorative accent while protecting the edges. The table stands on three slender, tapered wooden legs stained dark brown, each finished with a brass-colored metal cap. The legs are slightly splayed, giving the piece both visual lightness and stability. Visible joints at the connection points between legs and top highlight the honest construction typical of the period, while the table’s balanced, compact proportions make it ideal as a side or coffee table. The overall condition is good: wear and small imperfections are visible, especially on the golden edge banding, subtly accentuating the table’s authentic vintage character. This table echoes the spirit of the 1970s, when modernist design intertwined with pop-cultural exuberance. Its guitar-pick shape hints at musical and youthful inspirations, while the softly gleaming marbled top evokes the era’s fascination with everyday luxury. Touches of gold and brass at the edges and feet bring a retro note, as if the table were playfully winking at its users across the decades. The table works particularly well in a mid-century modern-inspired living room or within an eclectic, collector’s interior. It can be paired with a velvet armchair on slender legs and a geometric lamp to create a cohesive 1970s setting. It also suits a light-toned sofa and a subtly patterned rug, or among colorful graphic prints from the era. Brass or gold-toned accessories complement its warm laminate and underscore the stylistic coherence of a thoughtfully curated space.
