The VARIETT mobile side table from the 1960s–70s exemplifies German design where functionality meets a distinctly mid-century modern aesthetic. Its rectangular tabletop, finished in a deep reddish-brown veneer with visible horizontal grain, features a subtle satin sheen and slightly raised edges to prevent items from sliding off. The brass-plated metal frame displays a golden tone with areas of soft patina and matte finish, a result of gentle wear. White plastic details – two side knobs for adjusting the tabletop angle and four small caster wheels – ensure ease of use and mobility. The overall silhouette is minimalist and geometric, with straight lines and right angles underscoring its modernist roots. The table offers height adjustment from 66 to 97 cm, as well as a tilting top, enhancing its versatility.
