ABOUT PRODUCTID 5611
This antique sideboard from Northern Europe, dating from the late 19th century, displays a solid mahogany construction with deep, reddish-brown tones and darker, almost black, feathered grain patterns. The design references late historicism, with distinct Biedermeier and early Victorian influences evident in the gently curved pediment, central carved motif, and decorative scrollwork. The upper section includes two small cabinets flanking a central mirror, combining both decorative appeal and practical storage. The sideboard stands on low, shaped bracket feet, and features softly rounded edges and corners. Small, round, silver-toned knobs and escutcheons subtly contrast with the dark wood, while carefully matched veneer and precise joinery attest to its craftsmanship. The piece is in excellent, restored condition, with no visible signs of use or damage. The form of this sideboard tells the story of the late 19th century—a time when craftsmanship and style sought a balance between tradition and the dawn of modernity. The polished mahogany surface softly reflects light, evoking the glow of candlelight and gas
