Designed by Bohumil Landsman and Hubert Nepozitek for Jitona in Czechoslovakia during the 1960s, this sideboard embodies the essence of mid-century modern design. Crafted from oak and walnut veneer, its natural grain is accentuated by a honey-brown, semi-matte satin finish. The upper section features a glazed display cabinet with a single shelf, closed with new, clear glass panels. Below, two large doors with vertical wood grain conceal spacious shelves. The piece stands on four splayed, solid beech legs, lending a sense of lightness. Construction details include seamless joints and discreet gold-tone aluminum fittings. There are no visible handles; the doors are opened by a key or push mechanism. The entire sideboard has been comprehensively restored, stripped of old finishes, and treated with high-quality Danish oil. It is preserved in restored condition, showing no signs of wear.
This sideboard echoes the confident tone of the 1960s, a period when clarity of form and practical function met an appreciation for material detail. Its silhouette speaks in the language of harmony and restraint, while the deep wood grain and gentle sheen recall the atmosphere of Central European modernist interiors. The glass cabinet at
