ABOUT PRODUCTID 4412
This rosewood sideboard, designed by Erling Torvits in the 1960s, is a testament to Danish functional modernism in its refined form. The body is clad in rosewood veneer, displaying a deep, warm brown tone with subtle reddish hues and a striking, natural wood grain pattern. The semi-gloss finish enhances the play of light across the surface, maintaining a reserved sense of elegance. The cabinet stands on four slender, solid wood legs finished in matte black, lending the whole piece a sense of lightness. On the left, four spacious drawers feature sculpted, integrated handles, while on the right, two sliding doors with minimalist keyholes conceal adjustable shelves. The proportions are balanced and horizontal, with minimal ornamentation in line with the functionalist ethos of Scandinavian design. There are minor scratches and edge wear typical of authentic vintage furniture, while the surface has been refreshed. In very good condition – ready for use. This sideboard carries the voice of 1960s Northern Europe: the gravity of form meets the softness of nature. Rosewood, with its depth of color and lively grain, seems to recount a story from a time when function and beauty were inseparable
